A few months back I made a collage with some of my favorite  personal images from 2010. I finally got around to ordering it and I couldn’t be more pleased! I love the clean modern feel and the extra wide white border. Now I just to find a place to hang it.

It’s 36″x24″ in size, each individual image is just under 4×4″. For comparison purposes, you can see that 5×7 next to it. I ordered it as a 3/4″  standout with white edge, even though you can’t tell from this angle.

And I decided to share the template right here! You will need a working knowledge of Photoshop CS4 and above. It has 18 openings, with clipping masks. The finished size is 36×24″ but you will be able to size it down (or up), if you prefer.

I just delivered this fabulous collection of products last week and I couldn’t help but take a few shots of it. It all turned out so cute and well-coordinated:

This is an example of Collection 1, which includes one 16×20 mounted print and the digital images (with printing rights) and the 5×7 reference prints. The 5×7 press printed birth announcements were part of the current promotion and baby Gus’ family added a custom image box to their order. The little 3×3 albums are an incentive with purchase. I just love, love how it all looks!

And here are the digital boards, so you can see the details better:

The Image Box is a keepsake box customized with images from your session. The inside dimensions are 5×7, to hold the reference prints or birth announcements.

I love how this one of baby Titan’s session turned out. You can see how everything coordinates, the image box, the bordered reference prints and the birth announcements. A true heirloom keepsake collection.

Here is a digital version, so you can see better the details:

Image boxes are available a-la-carte, and may be purchased with a collection discount. There are many designs and colors available, to suit any kind of session and occasion.
And a shot of a 12×12 Quote print:

Today I’d like to show some examples of birth announcements.

Birth announcements are press printed and therefore printed on both sides. The most common size is 5×7 flat but they also come in 5×5, both flat and folded options. There are also different options for paper finishes. They come in sets of 24 and include envelopes.  Just as a reminder, for a limited time, when you book a newborn session with Reflections by Cindy, you receive a free set of 5×7 flat birth announcements in the semi-gloss paper finish.

I also offer specialty birth announcements, when you want some a little more elegant and out of the ordinary.

The scallop cut, in 5×7 and 5×5 flat:

And the ornate folded, in 5×7 and 5×5:

All of these are just some examples of colors and text, I am happy to customize the style to coordinate with your baby’s newborn session.

I assure you that these look much better in person so don’t hesitate to send me an e-mail and set up a meeting to view and handle these yourself.

This is just a little random post since I can’t resist showing some product shots.

First off, baby Zoey’s 11×14 wall print, which turned out fabulous:

This also explains what is included with Digital Collection I.

And a little sneak peek of baby Brysen’s newborn/family session:

I think these images make such an impressive wall display, such a gorgeous family!

More to come soon!

Many times, after viewing the online gallery with the images from your session, you may be a little hesitant as to what wall size print to get. It’s perfectly normal to wonder and there are a few steps that will make this decision a little easier.

I first advise to choose where you want your images to be displayed. The living room or family room is usually a good place to start. Most people like the 8×10 size of their favorite image to go on the wall over the sofa.

Let’s see how that looks:

Kind of puny, isn’t it? That is a regular size sofa and, as you can see, that 8×10 canvas of your favorite image looks like a postage stamp on the wall. Not very impressive at all. In fact, it will be rather hard to see unless you’re standing right next to it.

How about a canvas that is proportioned to your sofa and wall?

The difference is quite striking, isn’t it? While, at first, the 20×40 inches size may seem too large, when hung up on the wall above the sofa, it looks harmonious and perfectly sized. Your image becomes the focus of attention, as it should be. I recommend canvases because they are an instant piece of art and come ready to hang. Canvases are also durable and have an archival life of 150 years, when cared for properly. It’s an investment that will become a family heirloom.

Now let’s compare the 8×10 with the other popular sizes of 11×14 and 16×10:

Even the 16×20 doesn’t feel quite right, if it were by itself. And you start to realize how ridiculous that 8×10 is up on the wall. That is actually why I recommend 8×10 prints to be displayed as tabletop decor items on an easel.

If you can’t choose your favorite image, then a group display of 3-4 images becomes a good option:

It’s a good way to incorporate variety without compromising your favorite choice. You can also see that smaller sizes look right at home in a group display setting, as they help balance the anchor piece.

Another popular place to display your baby’s images is the nursery:

What better wall decorations to have in your baby’s nursery than her own baby pictures to look at? This is a group display that will look perfect on any wall.  Many smiles and happy moments guaranteed!

Your favorite classic image as one large canvas in black and white is instant art that will never go out of style.

And that is why, when it comes to wall displays of your favorite images, bigger is better!

As a reminder, you receive a 20-25% discount on wall prints and canvases with the purchase of digital collections II and III. I’m also available to help you decide what size and image will be a best fit for your custom wall display.

I am excited to introduce a new product: 2011 Calendars!

Here you can see how they look printed and ready to hang (excuse the poor quality photo, the weather has been very drabby lately):

The large ones are 12″x18″ and the smaller ones are 8″x12″. The upper corners are drilled to allow for a ribbon to hang. As you can see, these are very versatile and can be customized in lots of ways.

Contact me to purchase any of these or to order your own customized calendar.

I love beautiful things. I think I’ve said it before, and it’s true. I also like to offer new  products that are both inspiring, pleasing to eye and touch,  and high quality. There couldn’t be a better way to preserve your cherished memories and show them off in style, at the same time.

I am so excited about these! I had planned to wait until the New Year but I couldn’t resist having an ‘advance showing’. :)

The Image Folio comes in 5×7, 8×8 and 8×10 size. The example below is 5×7. It has custom front and back covers, and then it opens up to 2 more custom images. Backgrounds and colors are also completely customized. It’s thick and sturdy enough to stand on its own, and it may be displayed without an easel.

The Image Box is a custom printed box with 10 5×7 mounted prints. A small easel is included to display one of the prints, and you may rotate all 10 as your fancy dictates. This is a modern approach to a session album and it looks great on a desktop or shelf.

As usual, these products are so much more impressive in person and you are welcome to schedule a private consultation to view these and all the others that I offer.

Almost 2 months ago, I posted about my newborn artwork at the new Mountain West Women’s Center in Tooele. At the time of the opening, 2 canvases were hung and ready for display. Last month I delivered the remaining 12 canvases.

This is the entrance, which is directly behind the Mountain West Medical Center, and it faces West.

Right after the visitors’ lobby, patients and visitors come in through the doors and the Nurses’ station is on the left. Directly across from it, a display of 3 canvases was hung:

Each measures 24×36 inches:

The other canvases were hung individually in the patients’ rooms and, of course, those were being used and couldn’t be photographed.

I am very happy with how these turned out, they look absolutely stunning in person! I’m so humbled to have been asked to participate in this project, it was a very gratifying experience to see these images of beautiful babies come to realization and life through such a perfect medium- with proper care, gallery wrapped canvases have an archival life of 150 years, which makes the perfect investment when you want to preserve a special image or, in this case, a display of artwork. It makes me happy to know that these canvases will be enjoyed for generations to come.

If you would like to see a sample of a Fine Art Gallery Wrapped Canvas in person, please don’t hesitate to contact me to arrange an appointment.
