As a custom photographer, quality is of the utmost importance to me. I am committed to offering my best to you- a unique session experience, inspiring images and the finest prints and products. Custom photography is a way to capture your life in tangible art, it’s an investment in your memories. It stands to reason that you deserve archival quality  portraits  that will stand the test of times and become true family heirlooms.

The convenience of the digital age has undermined the worth of quality portraits. Most people falsely believe that keeping their photos on a CD or computer hard drive is more reliable than having an album filled with archival photos. The truth is that hard drives crash and CDs have a shelf life of less than 5 years. In addition, technology is constantly evolving-what we own today will be obsolete tomorrow, rendering those CDs and DVDs useless.

The ONLY way to ensure an image for posterity is to have it printed correctly on archival quality paper by a professional photography laboratory.

I strongly prefer and recommend archival quality portraits, mounted for stability and coated for longevity. My prices reflect this liking as I offer print collections at affordable prices that make it possible for you to own the finest.

My dedication to quality translates in my work- I only take a very limited number of sessions. I give undivided attention to each client and session, from the first contact and clothing consultation, to my traveling to your home or place of choice for a private session, to the editing of each image to bring out the best in it, to the end result- the beautiful images of your child in stunning quality prints. It’s an exclusive relation, and you know that your investment is well deserved and well spent.

When I deliver your order, you have the assurance that I spent my time perfecting your images and your prints. Your memories are works of art that you will be proud to own and to display, and will become favorite family treasures that your grandchildren will fight for. After all, this is the meaning of ‘custom’- made to order, personalized attention in every aspect.

I am constantly improving my skills and spend hours and money on education to guarantee that I am up to date on photography and editing techniques. I research the best photo labs so I can bring you the assurance of the finest materials and products. This is the ‘behind-the-scenes’ of each session, since so much more goes into photographing your children than just 1 hour of my time and cheap photo paper on a home printer.

Custom photography is special and it requires planning and budgeting on your part, it’s an investment on all levels, and the end result is worth your priceless memories.

In honor of copyright day, I am posting about the meaning of copyrights.

Please be aware that all images are worldwide copyrighted by Reflections by Cindy. Any reproduction in any manner or medium is a violation of Federal Law. Each image that is scanned or copied incurs a fine of $500 per infraction.

Under US copyright law (US Copyright Act 1976), it is illegal to make any kind of copies from your photos, to scan, print, copy, or download/save from the internet. I pride myself in the quality of my images in print. Scanning and copying result in poor quality prints that do not reflect the quality of my original work. As a consequence, my reputation as a photographer and visual artist is greatly damaged when images are scanned.

When I photograph your child that image is copyrighted and that copyright belongs to me, as I am the artist. This means that you have permission to use and display the images that you purchase; you do not have the right to reproduce any of those images (this includes home printers/scanners and commercial ones as well). When you purchase images on disc, you have unlimited printing rights for personal use only. This means that you don’t have permission to use the images for any commercial purpose or financial gain, including contests, and you can’t manipulate the images digitally, or ask someone else to do it (including, but not excluded to, removing watermark, alter color, change to black and white, use selective color on black white images, recrop in a different manner).

I take great pride in offering images that are not only beautiful and artistic, but also of the best quality available nowadays. With proper care, prints have an archival life of over 75 years and gallery wrap canvases may last up to 150 years. Your images will be enjoyed not only by you but also by your children and grandchildren. They will be treasured heirlooms and true works of art.

Thank you for your understanding- when you choose to not scan or copy your prints, you show respect towards my work.
