Announcing the Reflections Calendar!

Reflections by Cindy is producing a fundraising calendar to benefit the Tooele Valley Community Cooperative. Local businesses will sponsor the costs of printing the calendar and 100% of the sales will go directly to TVCC, specifically to children in need and their families.

At this point, we are in the stages of contacting businesses in order to get the funds. If you are a local business or know of one, please send them this info or contact me. Sponsorship options start at $50 and $150. Sponsors will have an 1.5×3 ad space in month calendar page.

The calendar has been designed and I have a sample printed to show anyone who is interested. We are hoping we will be able to get it out for sale to the public on November 1st. The cost of the calendar will be $5 with local tax included and we will have 1000 calendars available for sale.

Please visit the site for more information.

It’s official, my first baby is growing old- he just turned 12 yesterday. I know, he does not look 12, he looks a lot older. Maybe it is his serious, soulful expression, or maybe it’s his 5′ 9″ frame. I just look at him sometimes and wonder where the time has gone.

We took some time this morning and drove to this spot where a row of trees become magic with the early light. It did not disappoint. I’m sure there were drivers wondering what this crazy lady was doing standing on a step stool at the edge of a field (he’s 7″ taller than me, so yeah, I need a step stool).

Just as we were leaving the sunlight came in the right position to take this one, love the hazy backlight and warmth:

Happy Birthday, Michael!

If you have a family of all boys, these suggestions are for you:

I have 3 boys and I know how hard it is to shop for them- there are always a million choices for girls clothing, but not nearly enough as many for boys. It’s quite frustrating at times.

For this suggestion today, we have a bit of everything. Once again, you can see that there are many patterns and colors. Each brother is able to keep his own style and they still all coordinate very well, which is our main goal for a sibling session.

Fall is rapidly approaching,  the beautiful foliage is already changing, and these outfits would be an excellent choice for an outddor session.

As always, I provide clothing consultations at no cost.

Friday morning the weather was very enjoyable and we found ourselves outside tending the front garden. I usually shrink from all sorts of bugs, but Doug encouraged me to go get my camera and I found myself face to face with this green monster.

Since he appeared to be well-mannered (read, did not move too much and didn’t jump at me), I actually spent some time taking his portrait and you can see he even gave me some awesome eye contact.

I think the details are fascinating- I did not know that praying mantes have reptile-looking scales on their faces.

happiness was born a twin.”- Lord Byron

Do you remember these little cuties here? Look how much Grady and Logan have grown! They’re almost 9 months old now. And they’re even cuter, if it’s at all possible.

Prepare for an image overload, I have so many favorites from this session:

You can tell they’re such happy little boys!

Loved their little outfits, so colorful and bright.

DSC_3317 webThis is Grady, he loved being on the grass.

DSC_3334 webI love this expression, so cute!

DSC_3403 webThis is Logan, he much preferred the basket.

DSC_3357 webHe’s so expressive too, and just equally adorable.

And some in black and white, even though I love the color ones:

Thank you, mom and dad, they’re just adorable and I had so much fun photographing them!

It took me a few tries, it was indeed moving in the late afternoon breeze, but at last my patience paid off.

This is a very quick sneak peek for mom and dad: I really had no intentions of posting one till next week, but I just couldn’t help myself!

More of these adorable little ones to come soon!

You may remeber this announcement that I did in March.

If you haven’t noticed my home page recently, I have joined  another wonderful non-profit organization:

kccplainChildren’s causes are very dear to my heart, and I look forward to serving these brave children and their dedicated families.

Please visit their website and become their fan on Facebook.

Today’s suggestion is for girls only:

what_to_wear copy webThese outfit suggestions would work well for three sisters, the youngest being a preschooler and the oldest a young teen. As you can see, there is lots of color and patterns but it all comes nicely together- the key is to coordinate instead of matching.

The tones in these outfits would be perfect for a session in the park or a session downtown.

If you prefer to shop elsewhere than Gap and Old Navy, you can still take these suggestions in mind to other stores and apply the same principles of color/pattern and coordination.

Don’t forget to check my Holiday Mini Session offer- I have limited dates in September and October.
