“My eyes are an ocean

in which my dreams are reflected.”- Anna M. Uhlich

My little guy is 19 months old- anyone who has a toddler at home very well knows that toddlers do not stay still. It’s like they can only be when they are moving, it’s part of their intrinsic being. And this little boy is true to that nature.

The weather was cloudy and cool this afternoon and I took him outside to enjoy it. It took all of 10 minutes and 25 images of him running around before we had to go in. But for a brief moment, a nano-second really, he looked up at me.

I am in love with this image, with his big brown eyes, so full of promise, his quiet reflective expression, the baby curls softly blowing, and the little hint of a smile- I want to keep this image in my heart as a way of holding on to this age, just for a little while longer.

And one in black and white, with a different crop:

As a way of wishing all my readers a Happy Mother’s Day, I am giving away one newborn session, with free session fee and free print package (with signed model release). The only requirement is that the baby has to be less than 8 days old when session takes place.

Just send me an e-mail to cindy@reflectionsbycindy.com for all the details.

“It isn’t the big pleasures that count the most.

It’s making a great deal out of the little ones.” – Jean Webster

My littlest guy has recently turned 18 months- he loves balls and blowing bubbles, likes to play with shoes but not wear them, likes to watch ‘Bolt’ with his big brother, and loves to play in the backyard; he also has fits and throws around anything he can reach. I love that he is a cuddler and gives the best hugs.

He is growing up too fast and I still call him ‘baby’.

As a typical toddler, he didn’t stop long enough for me; not until he saw the jumbo lillipop.

And this is my second youngest, enjoying a little indulgence, nothing else matters for this moment.

“Each flower is a soul opening out to nature.”- Gerard de Nerval

I have been taking the time to literally smell the flowers, and relish the little moments. Spring is not only a renewal of life but more so of hope and faith- faith that the cherry trees will bring blossoms with the first warm rays of sun, that the grass will once again sport its green coat and that the sky will be azure blue and full of promise.

These are just some ‘snaps’ from my backyard, some flowering trees that proved to be the perfect subjects for a little play with depth of field. Other than being resized for web, these photos are unretouched, just 100% natural colors.
