Archive for August, 2010

I started the month with a beautiful newborn baby girl and I end the month with another equally beautiful new little girl. This is Claire, who was 11 days old when she came to the studio for her newborn photo session. There will be more to come soon.

Thank you, ‘L’. for making the drive. It was lovely meeting your cute little family and so much fun working with your adorable daughter.

I’d like to introduce beautiful Juliette, who came to the studio for her newborn photo session on her 7th day of life. And isn’t her name so adorable? Loved it!

Her mom understood very well how important it was to bring her in during her first week of life. Newborns grow so fast and it’s so vital to try and capture all of the little features and details while they’re still little and sleepier. They also curl better when they’re younger which is another very important reason to bring then in as early as possible. I know how hectic the first few weeks can be after the birth of a new baby (I have 4 of my own!), but I promise you that it will be a rewarding experience to look back and have those precious images taken in the first few days. I recommend that new moms contact me while they’re still pregnant so we can make arrangements for the newborn session.

Now back to Juliette. She was so cute and had totally perfect skin, I loved it. We started her session with some swaddled shots. Can you see her little toes through the swaddle?

I love positioning their little hands by their face, so adorable

She loved being on her belly.

Just love the way her little toes are peeking in this image.

And this is my favorite from her session:

And here’s a slightly different angle and crop. I love it in black & white, the light was soft.

Love this one too, you can see that beautiful morning light. She looks so peaceful and relaxed.

Phew, that was a large share! I had so many favorites from her session, I decided to post them all. Lately I prefer to have my newborn sessions with very simple set-ups and very few props. I want the baby to be the focus and have nothing else competing for attention, and I think I achieved that goal for this session. Love the way these images turned out, Juliette is completely center stage.;)

Thank you, ‘M’, for bringing in your sweet little girl. It was my pleasure working with her. Hope you will enjoy these!

Do you remember Noah? I first took his portraits back in February when he was 6 months old. His mom brought him back for his 1st birthday session. We had a wonderful time in the late afternoon, and we even had time for some cake shots.

He has the most adorable smile!

We brought out the cake and, at first, he wasn’t too sure:

He soon got into it, literally:

I love close-ups of little feet:

The beautiful afternoon light made for an amazing background:

And here’s the 20×20 cake smash storyboard that his mom ordered in a float wrap:

Happy First Birthday, Noah!

Lots more coming soon!

I met this little one last Thursday. At 10 days old, she arrived at the studio asleep and left asleep as well. She behaved beautifully for her newborn session and I confess I fell in love with her gorgeous hair.

More to come soon!

If you follow my blog, you know that most of my clients are of a certain young age, which means I’m usually chasing them around, making goofy faces or calming them to sleep.

Yesterday evening, I had a client who was actually taller than me. I didn’t have to run after her or rock her to sleep, but I confess I still made some goofy faces- just to break the ice a little. ;)

Meet Camille, who is starting her Senior year in less than 2 weeks:

This is just a quick sneak peek of her Senior portrait session. We had a great time and there will be lots more coming soon.

This is Matilda on her 7th day of life. She came from Salt Lake City to the natural light studio in Tooele for her newborn session and she was a great little sleeper. I have to add that I love her name, it’s  so full of personality, and I think that her beautiful red hair totally goes with it.

I had a hard time choosing which ones to show, so I picked all of the ones that I love from her session.

Look at those cheeks and lips, need I say more?

I love little baby hands curled up in tiny little fists, beyond adorable.

This is one of my favorites. Look at her little hands and fingers- do you see the heart shape? ♥

And this one, I just love, so cozy and perfectly wrapped:

Love the black and white one too:

And here are a few more for your enjoyment:

And I have to say that I adore the way these family images turned out, you can see how in love her parents are with her, just pure joy and excitement:
