“Nature is the
art of God.”- Ralph Waldo Emerson

My 3 year old son has been thoroughly fascinated with all sorts of bugs this Summer. He has indeed become an expert catcher and  is very partial to ladybugs.  We have tried unsuccessfully to photograph one of his latest acquisitions, but they usually don’t stay still long enough for the capture.

Last week, while at the garden where I held the tutu mini sessions, I noticed ladybugs sitting everywhere. After the last session of the day, I located one on a patch of Queen Anne’s Lace. I sat on the grass in front of it with my macro lens and then just waited until the little fellow made is away towards me in a pleasing position- my patience was rewarded. I was literally inches away from him but he continued with his merry ways.

If you look closely at the first image, you can almost see a bit of me and my lens reflected on his back.
